Yra Harris who is a trader for Praxis Trading told CNBC that General Motors will try to acquire Tesla next year.

In an interview given last week to CNBC, veteran trader Yra Harris from Praxis Trading predicted General Motors will attempt to purchase Tesla in 2014.

In our opinion the chances of seeing this happen are small taking into account the huge success Tesla is having right now with the Model S, managing to deliver 5,500 units in the third quarter.

Not only has production increased, but Tesla opened new dealerships, service centers and charging stations. Tesla currently has a market capitalization of more than 18 billion USD representing more than 100 times its earnings.

As a consequence, we don't see any reason why Elon Musk would be willing to part with Tesla in the near future.
